Recent Experience

  • Advised on the interpretation of the provisions in the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011 (Cth) relating to eligible interest holder consent.

  • Representing a large scale developer in proceedings in the State Administrative Tribunal, in the context of a refused structure plan, regarding the potential for sea level rise to impact a proposed development.

  • Advising a large carbon farming initiative and liaised with government representatives as to whether carbon farming activities on pastoral lease land affects the ability for mining companies to obtain permits to clear native vegetation.

  • Negotiated a wind farm agreement in relation to Western Australia’s largest wind power station and the effects it would have on the developability of adjoining land.

  • Negotiated the terms of a lease for the use of land for a wind farm development.

  • Prepared a conservation covenant for the purpose of satisfying environmental offset requirements.

  • Assisted with a proposal to establish a waste-to-energy facility by providing advice on the Renewable Energy Target Scheme and relevant Western Australian waste and energy policies.
